Build a list you own

Social platforms rent you an audience and change the rent whenever they like. An email list is the only channel where reaching the people who already came back is free and certain. Every event should add to it.
Capture at the moment of interest
The best time to ask for an email is when someone is looking at your event and has not decided. That is exactly where the storefront popup sits.
Offer something specific — first access to the next show, not "updates". Specific beats generous.
Every buyer is already on the list
Ticket buyers give you an email at checkout. Broadcast reaches every paid attendee of an event without any extra capture step.
That means your smallest useful list exists after your first event. Use it before you go looking for a bigger one.
Send less than you think
An announcement, a reminder, a thank-you. Three sends per event is a rhythm people tolerate for years.
The thank-you is the one most organizers skip and the one that gets replies.
